Food Tasted: Saba To Shitake Set, Ebi Miso Yaki Set, Tori Curry Rice Set Desert Tasted: Green Tea Ice-cream With Red Bean
First Off, You Have To Try Their Award Winning Tori Curry Rice Set ($14.90, Pan Fried Chicken Thigh With Rice In Curry Sauce). The Dish Comes With A Generous Serving Of Chicken Thigh Meat, Pan Fried To Perfection, It Is Non Oily, With The Batter Crispy And The Meat Juicy On The Inside. The Rice Comes Drenched In The Restaurant’s Specially Prepared Curry Sauce. Unlike Ordinary Japanese Curry, This Curry Has A Unique Hotness Which Spikes Up Inside Your Mouth, But Interestingly The Hotness Mellows Out And Doesn’t Leave Your Entire Mouth Numb With Hotness, Allowing You To Enjoy The Aftertaste Aroma Of The Curry. It Goes Down Easy On Your Throat, Without Leaving Any Sticky Feeling In Your Throat; As Such Diners Tend To Find Themselves Wanting For More.
Next Up Are Two Other Interesting Specialty Dishes The Saba To Shitake Set ($18.90, Grilled Mackerel And Shitake Mushroom) And The Ebi Miso Yaki Set ($16.90, Grilled King Prawn In Miso Paste Gratin) The King Prawn Which Is About The Size Of A Palm, Is Grilled With Miso Paste. It Has A Surprising Cheesy Flavor Considering That No Cheese Is Added, Apparently The Miso Paste Has Been Specially Concocted To Imitate The Grilled Cheese Lobster Which We Are Familiar With. The Other Dish Is The Grilled Mackerel Which Has Been Stuffed With Slices Of Shitake Mushroom. Point To Note, The Texture When The Mackerel Is Eaten With The Shitake Mushroom, Is Supposed To Induce A Feeling Similar To Eating Abalone. The Fishy Taste Of The Mackerel Is Also Subtle Enough For My Preference, Although I Prefer To Have My Mackerel A Tad More Crispy And With More Grill Aroma.
The Desert Tasted Is The Restaurant’s Own Green Tea Ice-cream With Red Bean ($5.90). The Ice-cream Has A Nice Milky Taste To It Resulting In A Rich And Creamy Texture; The Green Tea Flavor Is Refreshing And Yet Doesn’t Impart The Usual Dryness That Is Usual Found In Green Tea Ice-creams, As Such You Will Find That It Goes Down Easy On The Throat.
The Attentiveness That Six Restaurant Devotes To Its Food Certainly Deserves Mention; We Can Tell That A Lot Of Care Has Been Put To Ensure That Its Food Suits The Singaporean Palate, Even Down To Their Sauces. The Restaurant Setting Is Also Very Bright And Spacious, With Some Seats Facing The Singapore River For Those Seeking A Waterfront Dining Experience.
